THE RISE OF INTERMITTENT FASTING

by Jay Kim on May 11, 2016

Intermittent Fasting

“Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a pauper.” – Adelle Davis

I have the utmost respect for Adelle and her historical contribution to nutritional science.  The good news is with the advances in modern science there appears to be many ways to skin this cat.

Nearly every single fitness website you stumble upon now has some sort of article that is a primer or 101 guide to Intermittent Fasting.  This particular dieting protocol has exploded in popularity in the last 5 years and even the NY Times recently did a piece observing its rise.

Conventional teachings held as gospel around meal timing and the dreaded starvation mode are now being directly challenged by Intermittent Fasting and for hackers like us trying to find the path of least resistance, this is great news.· Continue

HOW TO COUNT CALORIES

by Jay Kim on May 11, 2016

Count Calories

Don’t Fly Blind

Let’s face it, counting calories blows.  It’s a pain in the ass.  It’s annoying to do and annoying to see someone do.  Nothing annoys me more socially than picky eaters, so I get it.  But unfortunately it is a necessary evil when you are trying to hack fitness.  You’re going be slightly annoying to everyone from now on but don’t worry, your friends will get over it.  Especially when you show them your results.· Continue

GARBAGE IN, GARBAGE OUT

by Jay Kim on May 11, 2016

garbage food

“… I eat really clean. I know I’m going to get at least 20g of protein with every meal, and I try to eat low-glycemic-index carbs. It takes a little bit of planning, and it’s a pain in the ass, but that’s how you’re going to keep your body in the best shape.” – Dan Bilzerian, 16.9mm Instagram followers, Men’s Health March 2015

Check Yourself

This post is pretty self-explanatory and if you haven’t educated yourself on how to eat clean and what are good vs. bad food choices then you need to stop kidding yourself and do that right now.

We’ve all heard the saying “Abs are made in the Kitchen” and whether you like it or not, it is the truth. Even Dan Bilzerian, the Instagram King, who seemingly has it all and lives the rock style lifestyle that we all dream of, admitted recently in an interview with Men’s Health that it’s hard work to keep his physique.

It’s a fact of life I’m afraid and it is something you need to stop resisting and just start accepting.· Continue

THE PSYCHOLOGY OF FITNESS

by Jay Kim on May 5, 2016

Fitness Psychology

The reason most people never reach their goals is that they don’t define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.” – Denis Waitley

As I mentioned in the last post, most people now have a lot of general knowledge about fitness.  Due to the advances in modern technology, namely the Internet, it doesn’t take much for anyone to become a self-proclaimed expert.

And they probably know a lot about dieting and nutrition as well.  All of the information one needs to get fit is out there already. Unfortunately, what you know doesn’t mean shit.  In the previous post I talked about the “Masters of the Universe” and how they have the brains to make millions of dollars a day yet they still can’t figure out this “fitness thing”.· Continue

HOW TO HACK FITNESS

by Jay Kim on January 3, 2016

Hack Fitness

“Time is an equal opportunity employer. Each human being has exactly the same number of hours and minutes every day. Rich people can’t buy more hours. Scientists can’t invent new minutes. And you can’t save time to spend it on another day.”  ― Denis Waitley

Welcome

I’ve spent the larger part of the last 15 years of my life trying to get “fit” but never quite being able to achieve that “ripped” single digit body fat state that so many want.  Having wasted so much of my life trying to figure it out, I want to make sure you don’t waste yours.

I believe anyone can hack fitness to achieve and maintain a single digit body fat % year round in under 3 hours of exercise a week (cardio not required).  The goal and purpose of this blog is to share this hack with you.· Continue
